European and U.S. stock-index futures rose and commodities declined before the Federal Reserve releases its economic outlook survey. The Fed publishes its economic survey known as the Beige Book today, while data this week will probably show American payrolls increased in August and the jobless rate held at 7.4 percent. A report today may confirm the euro area grew 0.3 percent last quarter from the previous period. The U.S. Senate’s foreign relations panel is scheduled to vote on a resolution

that sets a 90-day limit on military action against Syria.

Stock to watch: Apple

Apple Inc. sent out invitations to a Sept. 10 event, where the world’s largest technology company will unveil new models of the iPhone.

The event will be held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, at 10 a.m., the company said today in an e-mailed invitation designed with colorful bubbles. Apple will announce new iPhones at the event, a person familiar with the plans has said.
