On May 5, Uber Technologies reported its first quarter earnings, outperforming both Gross Bookings and Adjusted EBITDA outlook as mobility trends improved and delivery business continued to achieve elevated growth numbers.
For the first quarter, Gross Bookings grew by 24% compared to the previous year, to $19.5 billion. Excluding the impact of exchange rate movements, Gross Bookings grew by 22%. Despite the strong year-on-year growth, underlying segment results remained mixed with Mobility Gross Bookings down 38% year-on-year at $6.8 billion, while Delivery Gross Bookings up by 166% year-on-year at $12.5 billion.
