Qualcomm was founded in 1985 and strived to build “QUALity COMMunications” which departed from the accepted telecommunications standards at the time to develop Code Division Multiple Access (“CDMA”). This laid the foundation for all 3G networks worldwide and helped define the latest 4G and 5G technologies. CDMA is Qualcomm’s largest revenue contributor followed by its Licensing segment, which together made up 99.6% of total revenue in FY22.
